Where to sleep while visiting Tokyo with a camper

While finding sleeping and parking spots in the countryside is easy, finding a spot to stay in big cities like Tokyo can be challenging. While we advise against staying in big cities with your camper, we compiled a list of spots you could stay in while visiting Tokyo.

Wakasu Seaside Park Parking Lot

This one is our favorite as it's wide, open‑air, and calm.

⚠️ Height Limit Warning: Parking Lot has a 2.0 m height limit. This excludes almost every standard campervan and RV. A typical Hiace-based camper is around 2.1–2.3 m and will not fit. Check your vehicle's height before making the trip — arriving and being turned away is frustrating and wastes a lot of time in Tokyo traffic.

  • Time to city by public transport: 30 min to Tokyo Station
  • Cost: 1000 yen per 24 hours
  • Limited to passenger cars (length 5.0m, width 2.0m, height 2.0m or less) and motor vehicles other than buses.
  • Number of units: 322

You cannot leave the parking lot between 22:00 and 6:00 am, so it is calm at night.

Haneda airport parking

  • Time to city by public transportation: 30 mins from Tokyo Station
  • Price: about 2,800 yen per 24 hours

The P4 and P5 are suitable for large cars.

RV park Kuruma Tabi (Sumida)

  • Time to city: 45 mins to Tokyo station
  • Cost: 5000 yen per night
  • Number of units: 4

This is the only RV park in Tokyo's 23 wards. It is very small (only 4 spaces) and in high demand — book well in advance via their website. Same-day availability is rare, especially on weekends.
