If you are in Kyushu this month and you are curious about camper vans, motorhomes, or road trips in Japan, there is a nice event happening soon in Kumamoto.
The Kyushu Camping Car Show 2026 will be held at Grandmesse Kumamoto from Saturday, May 16 to Monday, May 18, 2026. It is a good chance to see many different camping cars in one place, compare layouts, ask questions directly to exhibitors, and get a better feeling for what kind of vehicle could work for your own trips.
Event Details
The show runs for three days:
- Saturday, May 16: 10:00 to 17:00
- Sunday, May 17: 10:00 to 17:00
- Monday, May 18: 10:00 to 16:00
The venue is Grandmesse Kumamoto, located at 1010 Fukutomi, Mashiki-machi, Kamimashiki-gun, Kumamoto.
Tickets are cheaper if you buy in advance. Advance tickets for adults are listed at 800 yen. Same-day tickets are 1,200 yen for paper tickets or 1,000 yen for electronic tickets. Junior high school students and younger can enter for free.
What to Expect
The official page lists many camper-related exhibitors, including builders, rental and sales companies, parts companies, magazines, and RV travel organizations. For anyone thinking about buying, renting, or simply learning more about camping cars in Japan, it should be an easy way to see different options side by side.
There will also be stage guests and family-friendly content during the event. The page currently mentions special talk guest Nakamura Shido, stage MC Sawayaka Goro, camping car YouTubers, Miyama Kamen, and an animal-area attraction from Minami Aso Fureai Zoo Fairy Tale.
Food is also available at the venue, and the event includes both indoor and outdoor areas.
A Few Practical Notes
Parking at Grandmesse Kumamoto is free, but overnight stays in the parking lot are not allowed. Pets are also not allowed inside the venue or on the outdoor event grounds, so plan carefully if you are traveling with a dog.
If you are coming by car, the venue is about five minutes from the Mashiki Kumamoto Airport IC on the Kyushu Expressway. You can also come by bus using the airport limousine bus route that stops at Grandmesse-mae.
If you are planning a Kyushu van trip, this could be a fun stop before heading toward Aso, Amakusa, Miyazaki, or the rest of the island. You can find the latest details, tickets, access information, and exhibitor list on the official Kyushu Camping Car Show 2026 website.
